The FLOWER DRIPPER OVAL (101/102) is the newest addition to the CAFEC FLOWER DRIPPER series!
This brand-new dripper, which completes the FLOWER Series, combines the flower shape that embodies the CAFEC brewing theory with the trapezoid dripper.
With its flower ribs that allow the coffee grounds to expand fully and the unique trapezoidal structure that makes it easier to hold water in it, it draws out the full flavor of the coffee beans.
Additionally, thanks to the ribs at the bottom of the dripper and the different number of bottom holes according to the size of the dripper, thereby reducing over-extraction at the bottom.
The use of Tritan, a material gentle on both people and the environment, further enhances safety.

Development Story

A FLOWER DRIPPER in trapezoid shape?

CAFEC has been developing the dripper series centered around the combination of the flower rib and cone shape, as the ideal form that embodies the CAFEC brewing theory. However, we were also aware of the high demand for the trapezoid drippers, which are traditional but have enduring popularity both in Japan and overseas. Flower rib × trapezoidal shape?We were daring into the unknown combination, but with a desire to offer coffee lovers a new experience and pride in our own brand, which has developed many innovative drippers beyond the conventional framework,
we decided to develop the 'FLOWER DRIPPER OVAL'.
During the development process, we cautiously adjusted the height of the ribs at the bottom of the dripper in minuscule units, imperceptible to the naked eye, to maximize the characteristics of the flower ribs for smooth coffee extraction. We also pursued the optimal angle that would allow CAFEC paper to fit while creating the deep filtering layer for the coffee grounds. After numerous prototypes, the 'FLOWER DRIPPER OVAL' was finally completed.
With the addition of the 'FLOWER DRIPPER OVAL,' the FLOWER Series concludes.

What’s the advantage of flower shape?

The key feature of the FLOWER DRIPPER is its flower-shaped ribs. These ribs, formed by gouging the dripper, ensure an air layer between the dripper and the paper filter, allowing the fresh coffee grounds to expand freely. Additionally, the linear ribs extending from the flower ribs to the bottom of the dripper act as channels to the bottom hole, facilitating the smooth extraction of coffee.

The eco-friendly Abaca trapezoid paper filter, which uses non-wood Abaca fibers as part of its base material, is crafted with our unique papermaking technique that adds crepe to both sides of the paper. Thanks to the best height balance of crepe, we have created a paper structure that ensures a wide surface area. This wide surface area ensures a sufficient water path until the end of the brewing even if fine powder adheres to it. This ensures smooth water flow from start to finish. You’ll be amazed by the clear cup of coffee.
